“This practice brings me home.” - Syanne Patterson-Grey, London Based Yoga Teacher.
Syanne (she/her) has been practicing yoga for over 18 years and is a dedicated yoga teacher, rest advocate, and community collaborator. Passionate about collective liberation, Sy champions access, inclusion, and equity for LGBTQIA+ and marginalised communities in her yoga community and wellness spaces. She teaches through a trauma-sensitive, anti-oppression, and intersectional lens, fostering a culture of ease and belonging in her classes.
Sy believes that yoga is a practice of liberation and of coming home to ourselves. She strives to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and celebrated for their unique abilities and experiences.
As a teacher, Sy supports students in building an empowering practice that fosters compassion, community and connection. Her classes are nurturing, light-hearted, and often infused with curiosity and play—sometimes even a cup of tea! Laughter and questions are always encouraged, helping individuals build confidence and feel more at home in their practice.
Sy completed her 200-hour RYS Teacher Training at the Wellness Connection, Cape Town (2018), and her 300-hour RYS Embody Yoga’s Roots training with Susana Barkataki and mentor Linda Lopes (2021). She also completed Accessible Yoga Training with Jivana Heyman and the Accessible Yoga School (2023).

Employee wellness has become a strategic imperative for some of the highest performing organisations and companies. An increasing number of studies show the benefits of yoga in the workplace and comprehensive wellness programs go way beyond healthy and happy employees. These yoga programs are usually conducted through one of the three following ways:
• Full subsidy: Employer offers the classes free of charge to the employee (highly recommended to show support and foster a better relationship between high-level management and entry-level employees)
• Partial subsidy: Class fees are shared by employee and employer (also great to show support from high-level management)
• Hosting: Employer offers a space in the office for the class time and employees individually pay for classes (this option is best fit for smaller corporation that have the space, but simply can’t afford any subsidies)

Practice with me
Each class begins with a drop in—an intentional moment of quiet, a chance to check in and find calm before we move. Whether it’s your first time practicing with Sy or you’ve been joining for years, these opening moments are dedicated to helping you arrive fully and feel at ease.
From there, you can expect a thoughtful blend of asana, free movement, strength and mobility exercises, pranayama, meditation, and yoga philosophy—plus the occasional corny joke to lighten the mood during a challenging pose. Sy’s teaching centres compassion and accessibility, ensuring every practice feels supportive and welcoming.
One of Sy’s favourite reminders, “there is no rush,” sets the tone for a practice rooted in ease and joy, encouraging you to release perfectionism and leave busyness behind. While some vinyasa flows may test your strength and focus, each class is carefully designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re new to yoga or an experienced practitioner.

Welcome to our monthly LGBTQIA+ gathering where we come together to do very little. A space for us to come together as a community and to take deep nourishing rest.
